Ms. Sema TASVEREN

Sema Taşveren specializes in contract and energy law, with a primary focus on international natural gas and LNG sales, transit contracts, and renewables. She has been actively involved in the preparation and execution of numerous contracts and has overseen their daily implementation. Throughout this work, she has led and participated in various negotiations and resolved disputes arising from these contracts. She has also played a key role in resolving disputes related to multiple corporate transactions involving international natural gas and LNG contracts, including those in the renewable energy sector.

Ms. Sema possesses extensive experience in negotiating and drafting contracts, particularly concerning price revisions and adjustments of commercial terms in gas contracts.

She has participated in numerous complex and high-value international arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and institutional, concerning natural gas and energy contracts. She has advised clients on investment and commercial arbitrations, led the team in the preparation and submission of legal and technical papers, and represented clients before tribunals. Sema has also testified before international arbitration tribunals several times as a witness, contributing to the explanation of the link between technical and commercial issues stated in contracts related to international natural gas contracts. Additionally, she has represented clients in proceedings to set aside arbitration awards.

Ms. Sema is experienced and skilled in offering her clients solution-focused recommendations for resolving disputes between parties in international sales, investment, and energy contracts.
