Mr. Hasan AKICIOGLU

Mr. Hasan Akıcıoğlu, a founding member of GSI, has been serving as the Senior Managing Partner since the beginning of 2013. His exceptional legal skills and managerial expertise have been pivotal in transforming the firm. He played a key role in institutionalizing organizational flexibility and enhancing the firm's structural ability to maintain high service standards and professional conduct. His efforts have significantly increased the firm's competitive advantage in the market.

Before his promotion to Managing Partner, Mr. Akıcıoğlu led one of GSI's corporate and energy departments. As a Partner, he supervised thirteen lawyers and advised numerous local and foreign clients. He has been involved in complex transactions, represented clients in local and cross-border energy projects and acquisitions, and provided counsel for the construction of large facilities, such as wind farms, hydropower plants, and power transmission lines. He also advised an international media giant on its acquisition and establishment in Türkiye. Prior to joining GSI, he was associated with an international consultancy firm in Türkiye, focusing on corporate and commercial law, real estate, M&A, energy projects, and cross-border transactions.

With fifteen years of professional experience, Mr. Akıcıoğlu specializes in corporate and commercial law, international commercial arbitration, energy law, privatization, media law, construction, and real estate law. His practice includes advising multinational companies on investments in Türkiye and involvement in various cross-border transactions. These transactions span real estate, M&A, hydropower plants, and natural gas projects in Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Egypt, and Northern Iraq, giving him extensive knowledge and understanding of the nature and structure of cross-border transactions.
